Patience and persistance

Its great to be good at something, or achieve something first, or the work and effort to learn a new skill is easy, but often it is a lot harder.

The journey of patience and persistence can be an epic one. There are so many barriers to over come regarding physical and psychological development.

If you want to do something new and you are going to put in a great deal of time in patience and persistence you’d better get clear on what you are wanting to do. Get the big picture and chunk it down.

Example: I want to be flexible. In what way? Splits. Break it down. – Hamstrings, hip flexors, glutes, adductors, quads. Start stretching.

Now expect to stretch for a long time. Prepare t be patient and persistent.

We always hear quick fix and quick achievement stories. Assume this isn’t going to be you. Its going to take you quite a while to get to where you want to get to .

Lets use muscle building as another example. You join a gym and have a great muscle building programme with the correct nutritional plan to aid your gains and you are fully prepaired for the commitment. To look how you want to look is going to require real patience and persistence.

Giving up too soon will see you always coming back to the beginning – square one.

If you can persist through the probable long slog of crap feeling training sessions and be patient of your development, something good will come.

Good things come to those who wait – rather, good things come to those who train persistently for a longer than average time frame.
